Two polling officials died due to heat wave in Rohtas. The first incident occurred in Shiv Sagar Police Station area while the second incident occurred in Jawahar Lal Nehru College. Regarding the incident, local people said that a teacher, who was returning from election duty on Thursday evening near Ramji Indane Gas Agency in Shiv Sagar Police Station area, died due to heat stroke. The deceased was Lalit Prasad, son of late Sita Ram Prasad, a resident of Kirhindi village in Shiv Sagar Police Station area. He was working as a teacher in the primary school in Patadhi village.

Died due to heat stroke while returning to the village

People say that the said teacher was returning to his village from Chenari after contributing to his election duty. During that time he died due to heat stroke. SHO Rakesh Gosain said that as soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and sent the body to the hospital for post-mortem. After the death of the teacher, the relatives are crying inconsolably. People say that in Kirhindi village, five people have died due to heat stroke in two days. The second incident is from Jawahar Lal Nehru College of Dehri, where block teacher Ramdhyan Chaudhary has died. The deceased Ramdhyan Chaudhary was sitting on a chair to take the voting material in Nehru College, when suddenly he fell from the chair. He was immediately admitted to the sub-divisional hospital for treatment, where the doctors declared him dead.

Officials did not confirm death due to heatstroke

In this regard, the officials have not confirmed the deaths due to heat wave and sunstroke. They say that these deaths have occurred due to deteriorating health. People say that on Wednesday also an ASI Devnath Ram died due to deteriorating health. The deceased was a resident of Amarai village under Nawada police station of Bhojpur district. The deceased ASI Devnath Ram was staying at Indrapuri Polytechnic College in Rohtas on election duty. Suddenly his health deteriorated and he died.
