Siddharth Khurana (31), an IT professional from Lucknow living in Bhopal, inserted a pipe connected to a nitrogen cylinder in his mouth. Then he covered the area from head to neck with polythene and taped it tightly around the neck. After this, he released the gas from the cylinder, which resulted in Siddharth’s death. When there was no information about Siddharth for two days, his friend reached his flat. Then the incident came to light.
Siddharth, son of Arun Khurana, a grocery businessman living in the city, lived on rent in a flat in Nirupam Royal building located in Miseda police station area in Bhopal. Siddharth used to work in an IT company earlier, but was working from home for the last six months. According to the police, when there was no information about Siddharth for two days, Kedar, who lived in the flat opposite, got suspicious. He knocked on the door of Siddharth’s flat. When there was no movement, he informed the police. When the police broke the lock of the door and went inside, they saw Siddharth lying dead. There was a cylinder nearby. The pipe connected to it was in Siddharth’s mouth and his head and neck were tied with polythene.
I have failed everywhere…so I am ending my life
A four-page suicide note written in English was recovered from Siddharth’s room. Along with many things, it was also written that I did not achieve what I wanted to achieve… I have faced failure from every side… I am tired of life… that is why I am committing suicide… Along with this, many things were written by referring to a young Bollywood actor. The actor about whom it was written had committed suicide a few years ago.
Fear of taking steps in depression
Siddharth was in depression. It is suspected that this is the reason why he took this step of suicide. Police recovered prescriptions related to treatment of depression from Siddharth’s room. He was undergoing treatment from a big hospital in the area. Siddharth lived in a flat with a female friend. About two weeks ago, she had gone to her home. Since then, Siddharth was alone.
The house is locked…neighbors have no idea
Hearing the news of Siddharth’s death, the whole family reached Bhopal. The police got the post-mortem done and handed over the body to the family. After this, the last rites were performed. Arun Khurana’s house in Mahanagar was found locked on Thursday. Neighbors denied having any knowledge of the incident.
