Voting will begin shortly in eight Lok Sabha seats of Bihar- Patna Sahib, Pataliputra, Nalanda, Ara, Buxar, Karakat, Sasaram and Jehanabad. The weather department has issued an alert of severe heat wave in Buxar, Ara, Sasaram and Karakat seats. The maximum temperature in these districts is expected to be between 42 to 44 degrees. Compared to these Lok Sabha seats, Patna will be slightly less hot. The cool breeze blowing since night has given relief to the people of Patna. The district administration has taken measures to protect against the heat at all the booths. Arrangements for shade have been made so that the voters do not have to stand in the sun.

Chances of rain in these districts

The Meteorological Department has predicted strong winds and rain with thunder at one or two places in many districts of Bihar on Saturday. The districts in which the Meteorological Department has predicted rain include West Champaran, East Champaran, Shivhar, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Katihar, Purnia. The wind direction is likely to change from south-east to south-west. Monsoon may knock in the southern part of the Bay of Bengal within the next three to four days. A low pressure area is formed 1.5 km above sea level in north-eastern Assam. Due to this, most of the areas of the state will remain partly cloudy and the weather will remain hot and humid.

The highest maximum temperature in Bihar was recorded at 47.1 degree Celsius in Buxar while the lowest temperature was recorded at 22.0 degree Celsius in Kishanganj and Motihari.
