What is a mega block?

Often some repair work is going on at some or the other station in the railways. For this, the railways have to close some part of the stations or some stations. But when this repair work is done on a large scale, then a mega block is imposed for this. This includes connecting the tracks at railway stations and replacing them.

This includes the repair work of bridges present in the station premises. That is, if any repair work in the railways is going to take a lot of time, then some trains are cancelled by the railways. While some trains are diverted, for which a mega block is imposed. For this, information is given by the railways in advance, so that the passengers do not have to face much trouble.

Why has a mega block been imposed?

Central Railway has imposed a mega block from 30 May night to 2 June 3:30 pm. During this time, repair work is to be done on the platforms of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus station in South Mumbai and Thane station. According to the information, the platforms built at these stations are being widened. That is why the railways have cancelled many trains running from here.

How many trains are cancelled?

According to the information given by Central Railway, about 235 trains will be cancelled on Sunday, June 2. Talking about this, Swapnil Neela, Chief Public Relations Officer of Central Railway, said that from Friday, May 31 to Sunday, June 2, a total of 72 mail-express trains along with 956 local trains will be cancelled on the Main and Harbor lines. At the same time, the routes of some trains will also be changed.
