Indian Railway TTE and TC both can check your ticket know the difference in rules between them

Indian Railway Rules: Often when people have to travel a short distance, they prefer to travel by train. Because often airports in cities are located at a short distance. In such a situation, instead of wasting time in commuting to and from the airport, people prefer to go to the railway station and reach their destination in the same time.

In general, many people prefer to travel by train instead of flight to save money. Indian Railways is the fourth largest rail system in the world. About 2.5 crore passengers travel by train every day in India.

Thousands of trains run on the tracks every day. If you have travelled by train, then your ticket must have been checked during the journey. In railways, both TTE and TC check tickets. Let us know what is the difference between the two.

TTE checks tickets in the train

If you travel by train, you must have often seen a person in a black coat checking the tickets of passengers. This is the TTE who is called the Traveling Ticket Examiner. The job of the TTE is to check the tickets of the passengers sitting inside the train and check their IDs. Along with this, he also checks whether all the passengers are sitting on their correct seats or not.

Apart from this, it is also the job of the TTE to see whether any passenger is facing any problem or not. If you want to identify the TTE, then you can look at the badge on the black coat of the TTE. His name as well as his designation is mentioned on it.

TC does checking in the station premises

If we talk about TC, then the work of TC is somewhat similar to that of TTE. The full form of TC is Ticket Collector. Where TTE checks the tickets and arrangements inside the train, that is the work of TC.

Passengers’ tickets have to be checked on the platform and inside the station premises. Please note that according to the rules made by Indian Railways, TCs are not allowed to go inside the train and check passengers’ tickets.
