Deepika Chikhalia, who became famous by playing the role of Sita in Ramayana, says that people should no longer make films on Hindu mythological epics. Deepika also expressed her displeasure over Nitesh Tiwari’s film ‘Ramayana’, in which Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi are in the lead roles.
Expressing her opinion on Ranbir Kapoor’s film, Deepika said, ‘Religious texts should not be changed. She further said, ‘Honestly, I am very disappointed with those who keep making Ramayana because I don’t think you should do this. People are messing it up. I don’t think people should make Ramayana again and again because every time they make it, they want to bring something new.’
Talking about Ranbir’s film, Deepika further said, ‘What you are doing is that you are spoiling the whole impact of Ramayana. Talking further about Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana film, Deepika said, ‘No one should tamper with religious texts. I don’t think anyone should do this and leave it aside.’
The actress said, ‘Just don’t do that. There are so many stories apart from Ramayana that you can talk about. Talk about the many freedom fighters. There is so much that one can talk about, the unsung heroes who were brave in history for freedom, but why only Ramayana?’
Deepika also mentioned the film ‘Adipurush’ and said that Kriti Sanon wore a pink satin saree in it and gave it a different look by making Saif Ali Khan Ravan. By doing all this, you are spoiling the impact of Ramayana.
Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan is one of the most awaited films. Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi will be seen playing the roles of Lord Ram and Sita in the film. Although it has not been officially announced yet, KGF star Yash has reportedly been roped in to play the role of Ravana in the film.
Arun Govil and Lara Dutta will also be seen in the role of Dashrath and Kaikeyi in Ranbir Kapoor’s film. Reportedly, the makers have also roped in Sunny Deol for the role of Hanuman. However, there is no official confirmation about this yet.
