Shopkeeper Nand Lal Gupta said that he is a resident of Khoripakad village of Ballia. His ancestors have been making and selling various samosa, especially he has been making potato-less samosa for the last 4 years. With high demand, people come from far and wide to enjoy its taste.

The shopkeeper further said, ‘I prepare the masala at home and bring it. It does not require much spice. Few spices like cumin, turmeric, coriander powder, green chillies are mixed with cabbage, onion (cut into small pieces) and paneer which is the material ready for filling inside the samosa. Now it is filled in the samosa prepared from flour and fried in oil. There is no trace of potato anywhere in it. It is given to the customers at the rate of ₹ 10 per piece.

Sunil Kumar Singh, a customer who came to the shop especially to enjoy the potato-free samosa, said, “I had come to the district for some personal work. I was hungry when I suddenly saw a potato-free samosa. It is much better than the potato-free samosa. Its taste cannot be described. Once I eat it, I will remember it every day.”
