A constable posted at the Vijay Nagar police post in Tajnagri Agra has been accused of bargaining for releasing the accused from custody. On Tuesday, the video of the bargain went viral on social media. The police post in-charge is also being accused of threatening to get the video deleted.

Zubair, a resident of Jivani Mandi, is accused of making derogatory comments about Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi in a WhatsApp group on Monday. Bajrang Vahini State President Avtar Singh Gill filed a complaint. Police Commissioner J Ravinder Gaud ordered DCP City to investigate. On the instructions of DCP City, Hariparvat Police picked up Zubair from Jivani Mandi on Monday night. He was kept at Vijay Nagar Police Station at night.

Zubair’s brother Javed came to rescue him. Constable Vikash posted at the post bargained for releasing him. He is alleged to have asked for 50 thousand rupees. In the video, the constable is saying, “You will spend more than this in the case. The lawyer will take 20 thousand. You will pay this much in the jail itself. The case will be run on fast track. It will not take two years to get the punishment. Understand the seriousness of the matter… Tell me the calculation, I will talk to the boss, I am giving this much.”

Javed said that the constable finally agreed for 10 thousand rupees. He had three thousand rupees. When he did not pay the money, the youth was challaned under section 151 for disturbing peace on Tuesday. He got bail. The video of the conversation at the police post went viral on Tuesday.

It is alleged that outpost in-charge Yogesh and constable Vikas reached the youth’s house to get the video deleted. They threatened him. They asked him to delete the video from social site X. Meanwhile, in this regard, Hariparvat police station in-charge Brij Kishore says that the matter of the constable’s video has come to his notice. An investigation is being conducted.
