A gruesome robbery was committed in Purnia by bombing and firing. About 24 robbers first robbed the houses of four families and also did bombing and firing several rounds to spread terror. After this, they fled after looting 12 tolas of gold (about 120 grams), 2 kg of silver and Rs 2 lakh in cash. When the robbers were chased, they shot two people including a former ward councilor member. After being shot, the condition of both is very serious. The family admitted them to Purnia GMCH for treatment. Where they were referred to a higher hospital after seeing their critical condition. On receiving information about the incident, the police started investigation. During the investigation, the police also recovered a hammer, 11 pairs of shoes, mobile covers and bullets and many other things from the river in the village. The incident took place last night in Tarabari village of Baisi police station area. The robbery incident took place at the house of Mo. Naeem, Mo. Naushad, Mo. Ahijul, Mo. Arshad, residents of Tarabari village.

The victim’s family member Farhaz said that it was around 12 o’clock at night. Everyone was getting ready to sleep. Then suddenly the sound of firing and bombing started coming from outside. When I peeped through the window, I saw about two dozen people coming towards the house. All the miscreants were armed. After some time, they entered the house of Naeem and his relatives. They threatened Naeem with weapons and beat him up and looted 1 lakh 40 thousand rupees in cash along with 12 tolas of gold and about 2 kg of silver kept in the house.

While chasing the dacoits, two people including a former ward councilor member were shot. The family took both the injured to the hospital. Seeing the serious condition of former ward councilor member Afaq Alam, the doctors referred him to a higher center. The bullet hit Afaq’s hand. While fleeing, the criminals left a hammer, 11 pairs of shoes, bamboo sticks, cigarette boxes, a water bottle, a bullet and a mobile cover on the river bank near the village. On receiving the information, Baisi police station in-charge Sanjeev Kumar, Dagrua police station in-charge Ravindra Kumar reached the spot and collected many important evidences. At present, the investigation of the case is going on.
