Dr. Neetu Chauhan, Head of the Blood Transfusion Medicine Department of SN Medical College, said that before blood donation, hemoglobin, pulse and blood pressure are checked and body weight is also measured. After blood donation, the blood is tested in the lab to check for syphilis, malaria, hepatitis B-C and HIV.

If any of them is found to be sick, they call the concerned patient and give information about the treatment. This blood is used for the studies of medical students. Blood donation does not cause weakness. Blood requirement is replenished in seven days and iron requirement is replenished in three months.
