The Mineral Development Officer of Gaya has been suspended. In this regard, Deputy Chief Minister cum Mines and Geology Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha said that Mineral Development Officer of Gaya district Nidhi Bharti has been suspended with immediate effect on the charges of not working as per rules, not submitting clarification despite the memorandum and arbitrariness.

Departmental action initiated

Vijay Sinha said that a chargesheet has been framed and orders have been given to initiate departmental action against them. Mines and Geology Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha said that illegal sand mining and transportation is being encouraged due to arbitrariness, self-will, indiscipline and corrupt behavior of departmental employees. The suspended officer had committed irregularities in the case of settlement sand ghat number-39 (Gaya Bridge 03) of Gaya district. Vijay Sinha said that despite letters and memoranda by the department, no explanation was submitted by him. When the senior officer of the department inspected the said sand ghat and another sand ghat, irregularities were reported on various parameters.

Vijay Sinha warned

Mines and Geology Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha said that Bihar Mineral (Subsidy, Prevention of Illegal Mining, Transportation and Storage) Rules, 2019 is applicable for smooth and honest mining work in the state. He said that strict action will be taken by the department against those officials who will not comply with it. Mines and Geology Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha said that it is the responsibility of the settlement holders, transportation agencies and departmental officials, District Collector, Superintendent of Police, Sub-Divisional Magistrate and all police station in-charges to ensure transparency and fairness by following the rules of the Mining Department. He said that the goal of the Mining Department is to stop illegal mining and transportation by supporting the right people and punishing the wrong people.
