Green vegetables are either not available or the prices of those which are available are sky high. Both customers and vegetable vendors are troubled by this situation.
The situation is such that the prices of vegetables which are not asked for on normal days are skyrocketing. Be it bottle gourd or the most used potato, all are skyrocketing. Don’t even ask about the other vegetables. They are already expensive.
Vegetables are being eaten at a high price
Kesar Dev, who has a vegetable cart at Jhunjhunu’s Hawapatti Circle, says that green vegetables are not coming to these two markets. The main reason behind this is that the vegetables have been burnt due to extreme heat. Secondly, the supply of vegetables could not be done due to the festival of Eid. The few vegetables that reach them have become very expensive.
