Nidhi, the friend of the deceased and the eyewitness of the time of the incident, had told that Anjali was very intoxicated that night. She had told that she was refusing Anjali to drive the scooty because she was drunk, but Anjali did not let her drive the scooty.

Anjali’s friend Nidhi told the police everything related to the case, but she did not tell about herself. According to the information received from the hotel staff, Nidhi had also consumed alcohol that night. The hotel staff said that both the girls had consumed alcohol that night and both were very intoxicated.

Two younger brothers lit the fire
Anjali was cremated at Shivpuri Muktidham cremation ground on Tuesday (January 3) evening. 20-year-old Anjali died tragically after being allegedly dragged by a car for about 12 kilometers in the early hours of Sunday.

More than 1,000 police and paramilitary personnel were deployed from the victim’s house to the cremation ground. The victim was lit by her two younger brothers. The ambulance in which the dead body was taken for the last journey was accompanied by more than 50 police vehicles. Apart from the family members, no one was allowed to enter the cremation ground. A large number of people had gathered outside the crematorium. To register their protest against the police, people were raising slogans of ‘Justice for Anjali’ and holding placards with slogans and pictures of the deceased.
