On Sunday in Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh, the children suspected of theft were paraded around the village with their heads shaved. Not only this, the two innocent children were also beaten up. The accused were parading the children around the village fearlessly. The villagers remained spectators. No one came forward to save them.
While the accused were misbehaving with the children, their family members were taking prasad at a Bhagwat Bhandara being held at the other end of the village. When they returned home late in the evening, they came to know about the incident. A complaint has been lodged at the police station by the victim’s family. A case has been registered against five accused in the matter. The police have arrested four accused.
The incident took place in Wahidpur Mafi village of Dholna police station area. Har Prasad, a resident of this place, has a grocery shop. It was told that Har Prasad said that two children of the village had stolen money from the shop. On this, his family members and the bullies of the village first beat up the children badly. After this, they shaved half of their heads and paraded them around the whole village in a semi-naked state with their hands tied.
At the time of the incident, most of the villagers were present in the bhandaar being distributed prasad at the other end of the village. The family members of both the victim children were also present in it. When the family members returned home late in the evening, they came to know about the incident. After this, the police was informed. Late at night, the police reached the village and inquired about the incident.
On the complaint of the child’s mother, a case was registered against Har Prasad, Ramchand, Raja, Mukesh and Riyaz. Out of these, Har Prasad, Ramchand, Mukesh and Riyaz have been arrested by the police. Whereas, Raja is still absconding. The police is trying to arrest him too. Accused Riyaz works as a barber in the village. He had cut the children’s hair.
The police did not get the medical checkup of both the children done at night. The medical examination was done at the district hospital on Monday. The police is waiting for the report. CO Sadar Ajit Singh Chauhan said that a case has been registered against five accused in the Wahidpur village case. Four accused have been arrested. The remaining one accused will also be arrested soon.
