A man was looking for a cheap house online, suddenly he hit the jackpot and bought a house for less than a hundred rupees

What would you say if you get an old house for less than a hundred rupees? You might ask where is the house? Is there any transport facility to reach there or not? But don’t worry, such cheap houses are actually available in Sicily, Italy and people from other countries are also coming there to buy such houses. 31-year-old George Lang is currently renovating a three-storey property in Sicily, Italy. Despite the limited budget and less experience of renovation, he has vowed to turn it into his dream house.

You will be surprised to know that George, who lives in London, has got his entire house including furniture for less than 15,000 pounds i.e. 15 lakh 47 thousand rupees. He had to pay only this much to escape the lifestyle of London.

Moving from one country to another is no joke, but rising costs in London forced this businessman and entrepreneur to spend a lot of money. When he found nothing substantial, he threw himself into an Italian job. George looked for cheap housing in Europe but the Euro House project, which sells abandoned buildings across Italy for almost free, brought hope.

George found a dilapidated three-bedroom cottage in the hilly Sicilian village of Mussomeli. With the Euro House project unlikely to cost around Rs 53 lakh to redevelop, one of George’s ways of cutting costs was to do the work himself. From the start, he had to remove all the items thrown away by the previous owner. He also had to repair the roof. According to The Sun, he is also taking online electrical and plumbing courses via YouTube.

Mussomeli’s small population of 10,000 meant George would be leaving behind the fast-paced lifestyle he was used to in the UK. As soon as he arrived, he realised the solitude of the city. Another major attractive factor was the cheap food and alcohol options. He said in Sicily, a beer or cocktail could cost Rs 134 or a glass of wine Rs 178. He was away from the stressful lifestyle.
