After the accident, the villagers took four policemen hostage, including the SHO of Shripur police station, Pappu Kushwaha. The policemen were held hostage for four hours. After this incident, a situation of tension has prevailed between the police and the villagers at the spot. At the same time, the police of four police stations including Hathua SDO and SDPO reached the spot and freed the hostage policemen.

According to the information, Shripur police station police reached Ekdanga checkpost while chasing the liquor smugglers in Scorpio. Where the vehicle of both the police and the smugglers met with an accident. After the accident, the villagers of Ekdanga took the Shripur police hostage, accusing them of unnecessarily harassing them.

Ekdanga Panchayat head Indrajit Ram says that the police of Shripur police station harass the villagers of the area on a daily basis. Due to this, the villagers got angry and took the policemen hostage. Some demands have been submitted by the villagers to the Sub-Divisional Police Officer Hathua Anand Mohan Gupta, so that action can be taken against the culprit. At the same time, the police personnel who were taken hostage have been released.

SP Swarn Prabhat said that instructions have been given to take action against the culprits by lodging an FIR in the case of obstructing government work and damaging the vehicle. The SP said that the policemen were not held hostage, but were made to sit in a safe room by the villagers after the accident. At the same time, after this incident, there is a heated discussion that despite the constant patrolling by the police, the liquor smugglers are not refraining from smuggling.
