Lucknow/Anjali Singh Rajput: These days, the oldest Hanuman temple located in Aliganj of Lucknow city has become a topic of discussion. The nine-year-old Parijat tree present here has started flowering before time. Usually, flowers start blooming on Parijat trees in December, but in this temple, flowers have started blooming in July itself. Now it has become a surprise for the people.

Rajesh Pandey, the secretary of the temple committee, said that scientists are also surprised by the flowers blooming on the Parijat tree out of season. The temple committee believes that there is a lake near this tree and every devotee who comes here also offers water to the Parijat plant. Due to good maintenance, flowers have bloomed on the Parijat tree before time. It is said that this flower emerged during the churning of the ocean. The committee believes that it is the grace of Bajrangbali that people are getting to see this flower before time.

The flower blooms at 9 p.m.
These flowers start blooming at 9 in the night. The flowers of Parijat are white in colour but as soon as they get the first rays of the sun in the morning, they turn golden in colour. After this, they start wilting at 10 in the afternoon and fade away by evening. People are coming from far off places to see this rare sight.

this is its history
The Parijat tree originated during the Samudra Manthan and was planted by Indra in his garden. Harivansh Puran contains a detailed description of this tree and flowers. According to mythological belief, the Parijat tree was brought from heaven and planted on earth. Once after the killing of Narakasur, Shri Krishna went to heaven and there Indra presented him with a Parijat flower. Shri Krishna gave that flower to Goddess Rukmini. Goddess Satyabhama was blessed with eternal youth by Devmata Aditi from Devlok. Then Naradji came and told Satyabhama about the Parijat flower that due to the effect of that flower, Goddess Rukmini has also become eternal youth. Knowing this, Satyabhama became angry and started insisting on taking the Parijat tree from Shri Krishna.

These flowers of Parijat are used in worship
Parijaat flowers are especially used for Lakshmi puja but only those flowers are used which break from the tree and fall down on their own.
