A high-profile racket involved in illegal sand trade has been busted in Nawada. Nawada police has arrested six people along with three trucks loaded with sand with fake challans. Shocking revelations have come to light during police interrogation and investigation.

According to the information, sand was being lifted from Nawada in the name of sand challan of Gaya. The challan on which the sand was being sold for the sand laden trucks turned out to be fake. During the investigation, it has come to light that sand mining was being done in Nawada using the ID of a license holder of Gaya. A big racket was working behind this and this racket has done illegal business of sand worth lakhs of rupees till now. For this, sand was being supplied by creating a proper stock point.

The police have seized laptops from the sand mafia’s hideout and details of sand supply from about 284 vehicles. After being found involved during the investigation, the people involved have been arrested. The six arrested people are residents of Nawada, Nalanda, Sheikhpura and Lakhisarai. Nawada police has shared this information in a press conference.

According to the police, it has been told that on June 30, Hisua police station received information that three vehicles loaded with illegal sand were coming from village Bhadasaini. For information verification and necessary action, a special team of Hisua police station reached Repura and proceeded towards Bhadasaini and saw two sand laden trucks and one truck loaded with sand coming from Bhadasaini.

Action was taken by raiding the stock. On asking for the challan for sand transportation from the three seized vehicles, the license number on the challan shown by them was found to be K-GAYA/5/2024 and K-GAYA/58/224 and the address of the licensee. The drivers told that these people were bringing sand after loading it from Maa Laxmi Creative Stock located near Bhadasaini. They had also received the challan from there. As per the challan, these people had to load sand but these people were loading sand from Bhadasaini by doing fraud. When police raided Maa Laxmi Creative Stock located at Bhadasaini, police recovered a laptop there, in which the ID of licensee Ranjeet Kumar of Gaya was logged in. When the operator there was asked to show the details of previously issued challans, challan of Ranjeet and other licensees was found to be issued.

The illegal sand business was being carried out in a very cunning manner. Challans were being issued in Nawada using the login ID of the license holder of Gaya and on this basis sand mining was taking place within the boundary of Nawada district. That is, sand was being sold on a large scale without depositing a single rupee in the government treasury. Now how the login ID password of the license holder of Gaya came into the hands of these mafias is a big question.

Those arrested include Pankaj Kumar, son of Shambhu Yadav, resident of Punol in Narhat police station area of ​​Nawada district, Ajay Singh, son of Kedar Prasad, resident of Phulma in Akbarpur police station area, Shyam Kishore Singh, son of late Kishan Dev Singh, resident of Rampur in Surya Garha police station area of ​​Lakhisarai district, Santu, son of Ramvilas Yadav, resident of Bijwan in Deepnagar police station area of ​​Nalanda district and Vikas Kumar, son of Ramvriksh Singh, resident of Kaithawa in Nake Sirari police station area of ​​Sheikhpura district.

In fact, these people had formed a syndicate and were excavating and transporting illegal sand through electronic devices by committing fraud. Challans were also received from different mobile phones on the WhatsApp of operator Anant Kumar. There was a list of people involved in stealing illegal sand and mention of 284 vehicles. In this regard, Hisua Police Station Case No. 377/24 dated 01.07.24 under Sections 303(2)/ 317(2)/318(4)/336(3)/111 BNS has been registered and the people involved in the case have been arrested. Two Hiavas loaded with illegal sand, one truck loaded with illegal sand, four Android phones and one laptop have been recovered.
