In Atarra of Banda district, a 68-year-old woman, troubled by her husband’s harassment, complained to the SP against her husband. On the order of the SP, a report has been filed against her husband. Satrupa alias Satyavati, a resident of Masuri village of Girwan police station area, told in the complaint letter given to the SP that about 50 years ago she was married to Phoolchand Tripathi, a resident of Ghuri village of Bisanda police station area. Even after 50 years of marriage, her husband’s habits have not improved.
Despite having five daughters and three sons, her husband beats her. Not only this, her husband has taken all the three sons on his side and is beating her every day. She told that when she asked her husband for money a year ago to get cataract treated, she was thrown out of the house. Due to which she is living at her maternal home in Mussoorie and earning her living. Her husband is a retired teacher.
Despite getting a lot of money from pension and other places, not even a single rupee is given to her. She said that despite giving a complaint letter against her husband at the nearby Bisanda police station, no action has been taken till date. Due to which her husband’s morale is high. On the order of the SP, a report has been filed at Bisanda police station against the accused husband Phoolchand Tripathi under the sections of physical and mental torture and assault. Police station inspector Bisanda Shyambabu Shukla said that after registering the report, the investigation has been handed over to SI Pawan Pandey.
