In Muzaffarpur, on November 4, Rs 34.71 lakh was stolen from an SBI ATM near the market committee in Ahiyapur police station area. On November 12, Rs 17.45 lakh was stolen by cutting the ATM in Majhauliya area of ​​Sadar police station area. On April 23, 2024, two lakhs were stolen from an ICICI Bank ATM located in Islampur Saraiyaganj of Nagar police station area, after which on June 22, Rs 23.64 lakh was stolen from an SBI ATM a few steps away from Karja police station. On July 5, Rs 31.12 lakh was stolen from an SBI ATM near Bahilwara Jawahar Chowk in Saraiya police station area. On the same day, Rs 18 lakh was stolen from an ICICI Bank ATM in Rewa Road Fardo area of ​​Sadar police station area.

The act of ATM theft gang is shocking

In Muzaffarpur, a gang is suspected of stealing cash from ATM machines. From last month till now, within 14 days, all three ATMs have been targeted in the Rewa Road area. Karja, Saraiya and Sadar police station areas are on this road and the distance between these three ATMs is 10 to 15 kilometers. The police is also suspecting that the criminals of the same gang have targeted all three ATMs and the pattern of carrying out the crime has been the same in all the incidents, due to which it has become a tough job for the police.

Regarding the incidents that took place at different places in the district, SSP Rakesh Kumar said that a special team has been formed to prevent incidents of theft from ATMs. All pending incidents have been reviewed. Initial investigation has revealed the involvement of criminals from outside gangs. Police officials from various districts of the state along with police officers from many other states have been contacted. Action is underway. Soon the ATM thieves will be arrested. The pattern of the incident carried out by the criminals is being worked on and soon we will get success in this case.
