In Vaishali district, in Walishpur of Bhagwanpur police station area of Hajipur Muzaffarpur NH-22, a farmer couple who were going to pluck vegetables in their field were crushed by a speeding uncontrolled Scorpio while crossing the road, due to which both died on the spot. After the accident, a crowd of local people gathered at the spot. The local people informed the police of Bhagwanpur police station about the incident.
The fleeing Scorpio was also caught by the local people. On receiving the information of the incident, the police of Bhagwanpur police station reached the spot and took both the bodies in their custody and sent them to Sadar Hospital Hajipur for postmortem and started investigating the whole case. The deceased have been identified as Manoj Manjhi, 45-year-old son of Tuntun Majhi, resident of Harivanshpur of Bhagwanpur police station area and Manoj Manjhi’s 40-year-old wife Rekha Devi.
According to the information received, both the husband and wife were labourers. Both were going from their home to Walishpur to work in someone else’s field. While crossing the road, a speeding Scorpio going from Hajipur to Muzaffarpur crushed them, killing both of them on the spot. Both of them used to support their family by working as labourers in the fields. The death of both has created an uproar among the family members. They have four children who no longer have the support of their parents. The family members are inconsolable.

In this regard, the Bhagwanpur police station chief said that the husband and wife died in a road accident. Both the bodies have been sent to Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The Scorpio car has been seized. The driver has managed to escape.
