Bike riding miscreants fired bullets at a young man’s house in Welcome area of North-East Delhi late on Friday night. A bullet hit the shoulder of the young man’s mother who was sleeping inside the house. The accused fled after firing the shot. Fortunately, the intensity of the bullet reduced while breaking the door. The bullet did not completely penetrate the woman’s shoulder.
The bullet was removed by the man himself. Later the victim Shakeela (50) was taken to GTB Hospital. The woman is undergoing treatment at the hospital. Based on the statement of the woman’s son Istiqar, the police have registered a case under various sections including attempt to murder. Sources say that after a quarrel a few months ago the miscreants had stabbed Istiqar. Now they were pressurizing him to withdraw the case. When he refused, the accused opened fire at Istiqar’s house. The police are not giving any clear reason for the firing. They say that the investigation into the case is ongoing.
District Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr. Joy Tirkey said that on Friday night around 2.00 am, his team received information about firing in Gali No. 20, Janta Colony, Welcome. When the police team reached there, the complainant Istiqar was found there. He told that he used to work as a courier earlier. He has been unemployed for four-five months. Two unknown boys have fired at his house. A bullet has hit his mother Shakeela’s shoulder. The woman has been admitted to the hospital. The police registered a case after taking statements. Investigation is being done through CCTV. Officials say that the attackers have been identified and they will be caught soon.
