These days, the series of collapse of bridges and culverts is continuing in Bihar and in many areas of Bihar, bridges and culverts are getting submerged in the river. There is politics going on from Bihar to the centre regarding this. The ruling and opposition parties are continuing to accuse each other. The bridge built 24 years ago on Gulskari river between Bhagwati village and Sharma village of Barachatti block of the most Naxal-affected area of ​​Gaya district has become an object of pride for the villagers. Because in the year 2000, the bridge was constructed on this river with a fund of lakhs of rupees. So that about 50 villages of this area could get benefit. But, a few months after the construction of the bridge, it got destroyed due to the flood in the first rainy season. After that, this bridge could not be constructed till date.

This bridge was built during Lalu’s rule, it could not withstand the pressure of water

This bridge was constructed during the reign of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav. Lakhs of rupees were released for its construction. After that the bridge was constructed. But, before the inauguration, the newly constructed bridge collapsed in the strong current of the river. Since then, its reconstruction work has not been done till date. Due to the lack of a culvert, the villagers of 50 villages in this area have to cover a two-minute journey in hours. However, due to the lack of a bridge on the river, the students of the area are also facing a lot of problems. They cover a journey of minutes in hours to go to school to receive education.

Shailesh Kumar Sharma, a resident of Sharma village near the collapsed bridge, says that ever since he has gained consciousness, he has seen the bridge in ruins. If one has to go to the market or college, one has to cross the river. This bridge has fallen prey to corruption. The bridge collapsed in just a few days.

The bridge was not used even for a single day: Rajkumar

50-year-old Rajkumar Prasad, a resident of Bhagwati village, says that the bridge was constructed in 2000. The bridge was built but the villagers could not use it even for a single day. The bridge collapsed in the first rain itself. Due to which the people of about fifty villages are facing problems. To go to Sharma Bazaar nearby, a journey of two minutes now has to be made for three kilometers. Many officials and public representatives came for investigation but nothing has happened till date.
