Gunfire erupted in the district on Tuesday midnight in the case of robbery of a gold and silver dealer of Bhadohi district. After an encounter between the police and the criminals, the police arrested five accused involved in the robbery. Three criminals were injured in an encounter between the police, crime branch and the criminals near Nathaipur village of Gopiganj Kotwali. Five accused were arrested along with the injured criminals. The police recovered a bag of jewellery, a pistol and two bikes from them.
This is the whole matter
On July 8, near Dhanipur village of Gopiganj Kotwali, miscreants robbed a bag full of jewellery from Vikas Soni, a resident of Dhanipur, at gunpoint and fled. As soon as the incident was reported, panic spread in the entire area. According to the victim Vikas Soni, his bag contained 70 grams of gold, 20 kg of silver and Rs 70,000 in cash. The total jewellery in the bag, including cash, was worth Rs 25 lakh.
To solve the case, SP Dr. Meenakshi Katyayan formed five teams, which were constantly looking for the criminals. On Tuesday night, the police received information that the criminals were planning to sell the looted goods in another district.
After getting the information, Gopiganj police station and crime branch team got alert and cordoned off the area near Nathaipur. Meanwhile, seeing five miscreants coming on two bikes, police tried to stop them, but the miscreants opened fire on the police.
