Sonakshi Sinha On Her Grand Wedding Reception: Sonakshi Sinha recently had a civil marriage with her long time boyfriend Zaheer Iqbal in an intimate function at her Bandra home. After this, the newly wed couple also hosted a grand wedding reception party at Shilpa Shetty’s Bastian restaurant on the same day. Many stars including Salman Khan, Rekha, Honey Singh, Aditi Rao Hydari and Huma Qureshi attended Sonakshi-Zaheer’s wedding reception party. In a recent conversation, Sonakshi revealed why she opted for a big reception after an intimate wedding.
Why did Sonakshi Sinha choose the option of a grand wedding reception?
Speaking to Bollywood Bubble, Sonakshi said, “We were in each other’s element and this is something that we wanted to do for a very long time and we were very clear about how we wanted it to be. We wanted it to be small and intimate. She further added, “We also wanted our reception to be a big party where everyone just has fun. I didn’t want to take any stress so my house was an open house. Everyone was coming and going and I was getting my hair and makeup done. Friends were chilling in the wardrobe. Decorations were happening. Food was being arranged. So it was literally like an open house and I wanted my D-Day to be like that. It felt very homely and beautiful. It was perfect.”
Why did Sonakshi wear a saree instead of a lehenga at her wedding?
Not only was Sonakshi’s wedding a simple function, but she also ditched the lehenga for beautiful saris. For her wedding, Sonakshi opted to wear her mother’s old chikankari saree and then wore a red Banarasi saree for the reception. She said, “I dressed simply because I wanted to be comfortable and I wanted to dance the most at my wedding, which I did.”

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are currently enjoying quality time together in the Philippines after completing their work commitments. On her Instagram stories, Sonakshi posted a picture from their stay and wrote, “Honeymoon round 2. Now just waiting for Zaheer Iqbal to come here as we have to take separate flights.” Zaheer posted a sweet message on it, “Deewana is on its way baby.”
