IPS Success Story: People have to do a lot to satisfy their hunger. Poverty affects the lives of children badly. One such story is of an IPS officer whose father used to feed the family by driving a camel cart. In his childhood, Premsukh Delu, who hails from Rajasthan, used to graze cows along with his studies. But his inclination towards studies was so much that even financial constraints could not stand in front of him. Premsukh had seen the financial poverty of his family so closely that he once wrote a new story of success on the basis of his hard work. Today he has become an example for those who are trying to fulfill their dreams in the conditions of poverty.
Premsukh Delu, who hails from a small village called Raisar in Nokha tehsil of Bikaner district of Rajasthan, had a tough childhood. His father used to run the family by farming as well as driving a camel cart. Despite financial constraints, Premsukh dreamt of getting a government job to rescue his family from poverty and he also fulfilled it. To help his father, he used to graze cows along with studying in his childhood. According to reports, his father and mother studied in government schools, while his elder sister never even saw the doorstep of a school. In such a situation, Premsukh dreamt of getting a government job since childhood. For which he studied day and night.

After graduating in 2010, Premsukh passed the Patwari recruitment exam and became a Patwari. Continuing his studies, he passed the UPSC exam and became an IPS officer. Premsukh studied in a government school till class 10 and then took admission in Bikaner’s Government Dungar College. He did MA in History and was also a gold medalist. After this, he passed the UGC NET and JRF exams in History. Premsukh obtained a master’s degree while working as a Patwari and also passed the NET.

Premsukh has secured 12 government jobs in 6 years. He started as a Patwari and secured second position in the Rajasthan Gram Sevak exam. Despite being selected for the post of Sub Inspector in Rajasthan Police, he preferred the role of Assistant Jailor. Premsukh, who has been a Tehsildar and college lecturer, later also worked as a school lecturer. In his second attempt in the civil services, he got 170th rank and became an IPS officer.
