NEET UG 2024 Hearing in supreme court questions and answers asked in court NTA Center 22 July 2024

NEET UG 2024 Hearing In Supreme Court: There were a lot of questions and answers in the court yesterday i.e. on July 18 in the NEET UG case. The court seemed satisfied with some answers, while answers to some are still not available. At present, the next hearing will be on July 22 and till then every petitioner involved in the case will get time to strengthen his side. If we talk about the case progressed so far, then the problems of the students do not seem to be decreasing. Whether the exam will be cancelled or not will be known only after the answers to some questions raised by the court are received.

These questions were asked in the court

On the CBI report: On a petitioner’s question about the CBI report, the court said that it may affect the investigation, so they cannot disclose the report right now.

On paper leak – The bench said that if it is proved that the paper has been leaked on a large scale, only then can the matter of cancelling the exam proceed further.

How many students are demanding re-examination – The court also said that while some students are demanding re-examination, many do not want it. Talking about the petitions, 131 students want it, 254 do not want it. The students who want re-examination do not fall under 1 lakh 8 thousand. Only this many students get admission because there are only this many seats.

On IIT Madras – When the question was raised that the report of IIT Madras was not trustworthy, the court expressed its displeasure and said that one cannot point fingers at any institute without proof.

NTA said the syllabus has been reduced – NTA said that the reason for more students topping is that the syllabus has reduced and the number of students has increased. The opposition lawyer said that the syllabus has increased and also decreased.

Information about 100 toppers – The court has sought information from NTA about the top 100 students. It will be seen which centre and city they are from so that if any unusual fact comes to light, the matter can be taken forward.

Grace Marks- When a debate started on grace marks, NTA said that when grace marks have been withdrawn then what is the meaning of these questions.

Toppers from different states- The court said that the toppers are from Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Delhi, UP, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka and not from any one state or centre.

Changing the center of students – NTA told the court that students can never choose their own centre, it is system generated. The centre list is released only two days before the exam. The court also asked whether any of the suspected students changed their centre? The court asked how many students changed their centre in total and where are the toppers from.

Why did the window open again? On the question of why the window for filling the form was opened again for two days after the last date of filling the form was over, NTA said that many applications were received in this regard. During this period, a total of 15,094 students filled the form and out of the selected students, 44 are from these. 12 thousand candidates of new registration were unsuccessful.

Security of the paper It took 9 days for the paper to reach 571 cities through the courier company. The papers went to SBI and Canara Bank. The court has sought information about this entire process.

Question on video leak – NTA says that the edited video has been leaked on Telegram and the opposition says that it has such a feature that if it is edited, it will be known.

Three big questions of the court

The first question of the court is that the demand to cancel the exam without proving that the paper has been leaked on a large scale is futile. Second – the one who has leaked the paper has to earn money, he will not do any mischief on a national level. The court is not yet satisfied with the paper leak on a mass level.

The third and the biggest question is that it seems impractical for the paper to be leaked and reach the candidates within 45 minutes. The petitioner says that there were 7 solvers and each one got 25 questions each. But the court says that it is not acceptable that the paper gets leaked, solved and reaches the candidates between 9:30 and 10:15. If the paper has been leaked three days before the exam, then this can be a matter of mass concern, not now.
