The actor we are talking about is none other than Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Nawazuddin Siddiqui was born in Musafarnagar. He spent most of his youth in Uttarakhand and after graduating in chemistry, Nawazuddin decided to support his family.
Nawaz worked as a chemist for some time. But he was interested in acting and then he came to Delhi to fulfill his dream of acting and join the National School of Drama.
Nawazuddin had to struggle a lot to survive in Delhi. In an interview with Humans of Bombay, the actor revealed that he used to work as a watchman. He also sold coriander to earn some money. Nawazuddin said, “Financially, I was not well off. I used to borrow money from my friends and promise to return them in two days. Later, I would borrow from someone else and pay back the first person. I used to live in a flat with four people.”
Nawazuddin further said that he did many small jobs to survive in Delhi and said, “Sometimes I worked as a watchman and sometimes as a coriander seller. I also organised acting workshops.”
The actor further revealed that he faced rejection many times because of his looks and said, “I am the physically ugliest actor in the film industry. I believe this. Because I have been hearing all this since the beginning and I have started believing it now.”
In a recent interview, Nawazuddin Siddiqui revealed that when he was unemployed during his days at NSD, he worked as Kamal Haasan’s dialogue coach in the film Abhay. Recalling that time, he told Filmfare, “One of my seniors from NSD asked me if I would like to go to South with him and help Kamal ji. I was unemployed at that time, struggling, so I agreed. I had the script and if he made any mistakes, I had to correct him.”
After facing tough struggles Nawaz finally became a star. He has been a part of many hit and blockbuster movies like Kick, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sarfarosh and many more.
Nawazuddin always proves his strong acting prowess. Talking about the actor’s fees, he reportedly earns Rs 10 crore per film.
