Terrorist Encounter in Poonch: There was heavy firing between security forces and terrorists in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir in the early hours of Tuesday (July 23). An Indian Army soldier has been martyred while foiling an infiltration attempt on the Line of Control. Sources told ABP News that the soldier has been identified as Subhash, who was injured in the firing between security forces and terrorists in Battal area of Poonch.
Meanwhile, Jammu-based Army Public Relations Officer Lieutenant Colonel Sunil Bartwal informed that “alert soldiers foiled the infiltration attempt by surrounding the infiltrating Pakistani terrorists with heavy firing in the Battal sector at 3 am. Bartwal said that a soldier was injured during heavy firing in the Krishna Ghati area. He was taken to the hospital for treatment after being injured this morning, where he died. At present, a search operation is being carried out in the area.
Security forces foiled the infiltration attempt of terrorists
The White Knight Corps of the Indian Army said in a post on X that “alert soldiers foiled the infiltration attempt by firing effectively on the terrorists infiltrating in Battal sector at 3 am. The army said that a group of armed terrorists was trying to enter the Battal forward area of Krishnaghati belt. But the alert security forces deployed in the area sensed their movements and foiled the efforts of Pakistani terrorists by taking immediate action.

Terrorists attacked the house of a village defense guard in Rajori
On Monday (22 July), terrorists attacked a security post and the house of a Village Defence Guard (VDG) in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. A member of the VDG’s family and a soldier were injured in this attack. In retaliation, the army personnel surrounded and killed a terrorist, however, his body has not been recovered yet. At present, the security forces have launched a search operation in the area along with para commandos in search of other terrorists.
