Delhi University Increases Fees: Delhi University has increased the fees of many courses including undergraduate first year. Now students will have to spend more to study from here. This fee hike will be applicable from the academic session 2024-25. Under this, the first year fees of all undergraduate courses have been increased and the fees of PG and PhD programs have also been increased. This session will start in August and the fee hike will be implemented from then onwards. DU VC Yogesh Singh has approved this.

How much fees increased in which course

According to the new fee structure, the fee of first year B.Tech students has been increased by 3.70 percent. Earlier they used to pay 2.16 lakhs, now they will pay 2.24 lakhs. At present, the fee hike rule will be implemented mainly for first year students.

This fee has been increased under various sections like Tuition Fees, Welfare Fund, Development Fees, Facilities and Services Charges, Economically Weaker Section Support etc.

What is the status of these courses?

Similarly, the fee for the five-year integrated law course has also been increased by five percent. Earlier the fee was Rs 1.90 lakh which is now Rs 1.99 lakh. The fee for the four-year Integrated Teachers Education Program has been increased to Rs 57,400. In terms of percentage, the highest fee hike has been in PhD courses. Here the increase has been 60.22 percent. Earlier scholars used to get a degree by paying Rs 4450 and now they will have to pay Rs 7130.

Fees increased for these foreign students too

The fees have also increased for certain categories of foreign students. For example, the fees for candidates coming from non-SAARC countries have been increased from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh. For students from SAARC countries, the fees for MA Hindu Studies have been increased from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 50 thousand.

Tibetan students are exempted from paying university registration fees and additional fees in colleges and departments.

There is a delay in admission

The start of DU academic session 2024-25 is getting delayed as this time the CUET UG results have been delayed a lot. Earlier the result was to come on 30th June but now 30th July is coming and the results have not been released.

However, the final answer key was released yesterday. After this, it is the turn of the result which can be declared any time now. There is also a possibility that the result will be released in a day or two. In this situation also, the academic session will be able to start late.
