The new session of studies has started on July 1 after the summer vacations in Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). However, only four to six students were present in the classes. The number of students in the classes will increase from August 5. At the same time, the university administration has made 75% attendance of students mandatory in the classes. If the attendance is less than this, they will not be allowed to sit in the examination.
The university opened on 31 July. On the first day, the number of students in the classes was less. Teachers believe that the number of students in the classes will increase from August 5. On the other hand, the university administration has also released the academic calendar and attendance rules for 2024-25. This has been approved in a meeting chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Naima Khatoon.
Controller of Examinations Prof. Mujibullah Zubairi said that minimum 75% attendance in class has been made mandatory. If the attendance is less than this, students will be deprived of the examination. Registrar Mohammad Imran, Proctor Prof. Mohammad Wasim Ali, DSW Prof. Rafiuddin, Deans of all faculties, Principals of institutions were present in the meeting.
