US Elections 2024: Elections were held in the US to choose the presidential candidate from the Democratic Party, in which Vice President Kamala Harris secured enough votes. Kamala Harris officially announced her candidacy when current President Joe Biden announced his withdrawal from the race for a second term on July 20. The current Vice President of the US and the Democratic Party’s candidate in the upcoming presidential election will be on a four-day tour of those states from August 6, where a tough contest is expected. Her election campaign team made this announcement on August 1.

With this, a round of speculation has begun for the Democratic Party’s vice-presidential candidate. The name of the vice-presidential candidate who will contest alongside Harris in the presidential election to be held in November 2024 has been kept secret so far and it is likely to be announced before August 6.

According to reports published in the American media, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, Arizona Senator Mark Kelly and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz are among the top candidates for the post of Vice President from the Democratic Party. Harris (59) is the only candidate who has filed nomination papers on behalf of the Democratic Party for the presidential elections to be held on November 5.
From there, Harris and her fellow candidates will travel to Eau Claire in Wisconsin and Detroit in Michigan on August 7, Research Triangle in North Carolina on August 8, Phoenix in Arizona on August 9, and Las Vegas in Nevada on August 10, according to the team.
