According to research published in ‘The Truth Undressed’, women are not able to get proper treatment due to shame and lack of adequate education. This leads to serious health problems. Somewhere this also happens due to lack of self-confidence in women.
When do women become aware of their genital problems?
According to this research, 67% of women have accepted that they want to make some changes in their genital organs. Women accepted that they feel shy because such a social situation prevails or they have been taught since childhood that men and women are very different from each other. There are biological differences between the two.
Only 6% of UK women aged 16-55 are made aware of their internal organs through school and university education. Nearly 2/3 of women found out about genital problems only when they had an infection in their genital organs. Then they experienced it for the first time.
The two brands have teamed up to create a free online educational resource. Using their combined expertise and working together to eliminate the stigma around genital and women’s health, the two brands have created The Truth Undressed. The two companies are working to promote genital organ hygiene and disease prevention.
On the Superdrug website, the brand said in collaboration with national curriculum body the PSHE Association, a new range of teaching resources has been created for use in secondary schools (for ages 11-18).
