In such a situation, the big question becomes how many people in India know about this serious problem.
On this, The Yale Climate has conducted a survey in collaboration with C-Voter. This survey tells how much people of which part of India know about climate change. Let us tell you about it in detail.
Where was the survey conducted
Yale Climate and C-Voter have conducted this survey in all the states and union territories of the country. In this survey conducted in 604 districts, people were asked how much they know about climate change. Apart from this, people were also asked how much they know about the problems related to it at the local level. Along with this, Yale Climate and C-Voter have launched an online tool called Yale Climate Opinion Maps for India which will provide important information about climate change for every district of India.
How much do people know about climate change?
When the people of the country were questioned about this in the national survey, it was found that 41 percent of the people of the country are aware of the problem of climate change. Talking about the states, Gujarat is at the forefront in this matter. 52 percent of the people here are aware of the problems caused by climate change. Whereas, in Maharashtra, there are 33 percent people who are aware of the problems caused by climate change. On the other hand, when global warming is explained, it is found that compared to states like Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, more Indians in states like Kerala, Goa and Punjab feel the dangers caused by global warming.

Dr. Jagdish Thakar, a senior lecturer at Queensland University, said on this issue that in a diverse country like India, the central and state governments can talk boldly on the issue of climate change by connecting directly with the people. Yale Climate’s research can make governments and people better aware of the issue of climate change.
