Son injured, incident happened late Tuesday night in Suleman Nagar, Kiradi Amar Ujala Bureau
New Delhi. The balcony of a dilapidated house in Suleman Nagar, Kiradi collapsed late on Tuesday night. An elderly couple and their son sleeping under the balcony got buried under the debris. Hearing the noise, the younger son and the neighbours reached there. The police and fire department were informed about the incident.
People hurriedly pulled the injured out of the rubble and rushed them to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, where the couple was declared dead. The deceased have been identified as Sukhram Singh (74) and wife Gayatri Devi (70). Son Vinod alias Kallu (36) was badly injured in the accident, his treatment is going on. Prem Nagar police station has registered a case and is investigating. After initial investigation, the police have found out that the house was in a very dilapidated condition. The roof and balcony were made of corrugated iron. According to the police, Sukhram lived with his family in J-block, lane number-3, Suleman Nagar Kiradi. The couple originally belonged to Etawah, UP.
Could not get the house repaired
Pankaj said that after working Vinod and he get just enough money to feed themselves. Due to being old, the house had become very dilapidated. Many times plans were made to get it repaired, but due to lack of money, this work could not be done. The brother’s condition remains critical in the hospital.
