There are carts of chaat-pakoras on every street and nook here. But, talking about the most famous chaat stall, the name of Shivji who sells pakodas in Sarafa Bazar comes first. Pakodas are made according to the weather and season at Shivji’s cart. Cabbage fritters made here are famous all over Bhilwara.
Shivji told that he has been making pakodas for the last five years. He sets up a stall only in the evening and hundreds of people come to his place between about three to four hours and enjoy eating pakoras with sips of tea. There is a special demand for their cabbage dumplings in the winter season.
Dumplings are made according to the season
Shivji told that he makes different types of pakoras according to the season and weather.
Dumplings of cabbage, spinach and moong dal are made at their place. Apart from this, bread pakoras, potato big and special kachoris are also made. He told that he used to fry fritters in groundnut oil in winter. This is because groundnut oil helps in keeping the body warm in winter. Shivji serves jaggery and tamarind chutney along with pakoras to his customers.
Kanhaiya Lal Soni, who came to eat pakodas at Shivji’s cart, says that eating pakodas with evening tea here is a pleasure of its own.
