SS Rajamouli Childhood Struggle: SS Rajamouli is one of the biggest filmmakers in India. When his films are released, there is a queue in the theatre. The films earn thousands of crores. The film RRR earned 1300 crores globally. Bahubali 2 earned approximately 854 crores. But do you know that Rajamouli has also seen struggle in his childhood.
Father did not see success
In the documentary Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli, when he was asked that the first person in your family who was inclined towards cinema was your and MM Keeravani’s father. But they did not see success. To this Rajamouli said- ‘My childhood passed through the phase of their failures. But despite that, our father was always happy with his life.’
V Vijayendra Prasad said- We produced Pillana Grovi but it got stuck. Rajamouli played the role of young Krishna in that film. We did not know what we would eat tomorrow. Those days were really bad.
A half-baked film was made
Whereas his cousin brother MM Keeravani said- ‘The only aim of my and SS Rajamouli’s father’s life was to make movies. But he was doing all such things which had nothing to do with films. I was very upset at that time. Because the work was incomplete. Dubbing was also not done. It was just a silent film. There used to be a preview theatre in Chennai. He used to book that theatre and there he used to call buyers and distributors and show the incomplete film. In which there was no sound. My father used to dub all the characters live and I used to give the music score. That whole experience was very embarrassing.’
Apart from this, Rajamouli said- During my childhood, my father saw many failures. But before Ardhangi, I was not so affected. I was the associate director in that film. I was 20 years old. I had started understanding things.
Pillana Grovi was not released. Ardhangi was released but it flopped. In response to this question, Rajamouli’s father said- ‘I thought what is all this happening. We should get success. We thought we will not talk much about it. It was a huge failure. So Rajamouli said that he wants to go to Hyderabad and try there and he went to Hyderabad.’
