You can correct it online like this
If any wrong information has been entered in your PAN card, then you do not need to worry at all. You can correct it yourself online from home. For this, first of all you have to go to NSDSL i.e. PAN card authority website https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/endUserRegisterContact.html. After this, you have to click on the option of ‘PAN Correction’ from the ‘Application Type’ section. You have to enter your personal information, then fill the captcha code and submit it.
After this you will get a message with a token number. There you have to click on ‘Continue With Application Form’. After this your PAN application form will open. Where you can make any changes you want in the already entered information. And then proceed for payment. After the payment is completed, you will get an acknowledgement number. Save it so that you can track it.
Send physical form to NSDL office
When you submit the online correction form, after that you print your form and post it to the NSDL office. Within 30 days your updated PAN card will be sent to your registered address. You can check its status with the acknowledgement slip number. If you want, you can also complete the process of PAN card update through any Common Service Center. However, here you may have to pay extra charge.
