A five-year-old child died by drowning in a pond in Akdi Purva of Sirsia Thakurai Gram Panchayat of Karma police station area of Sonbhadra district late on Sunday night. He drowned in the pond while playing outside the house. The incident came to light when his body was found in the morning. Karma police took the body into custody and sent it to the district hospital for postmortem.
This is the whole matter
Village resident Omprakash’s five year old son Golu went to play near a well located about 400 meters away from the house. He slipped and fell into the water. When the family members did not find him at home, they started searching for him. When the child was not found, the police was informed.
The police reached the spot and started searching, but the child could not be found. On Monday morning, when the family members went around the well, they found the child’s body floating. They informed the police about the incident.
The police reached the spot, took the body in their custody and sent it to the district hospital for postmortem. Inspector in-charge Rajkumar Singh says that the boy must have gone away from home while playing. The search was conducted in the evening. Arrangements were being made to call divers in the morning, but the boy’s body was found floating. After preparing the Panchnama, it was sent to the district hospital for postmortem.
