Ridhi Dogra On Dog Meat In Biryani: Coming out of the small screen, TV actress Riddhi Dogra is going to rock the big screen soon. These days Riddhi is in headlines for her upcoming film ‘Lakdabagha’. The film is based on the issue of making people aware against animal violence in the country and the world. Riddhi is playing an important role in this film. Recently, the actress revealed that a few years ago she was shocked to read a news about the use of dog meat in Biryani in Kolkata.
The actress told OTT Play website that, in the year 2018, she had read news about the suspicious use of dog and cat meat in fast food. Speaking about animal welfare and animal trafficking, the actress expressed concern over the incident.
Cruelty to animals is happening in the country
Riddhi told OTT Play, “A few years ago I came to know shockingly through a news website that dog meat was used in Biryani in Kolkata, this news then affected the food business of the city as well. The ‘Lakdabagha’ actress said, “While working on this project, I learned a lot about the illegal trade of animals in India. It was quite an eye-opener to know what kind of animal cruelty is happening all around that we can’t fully understand.” Kinda clueless.”
Talking about the film, the actress said, “This is a very important story for me because striped hyenas are one of the endangered species. We want to convey the message of conservation of this species to the people through the film.”
What is the story of ‘Lakdbagha’
Talking about the story of the film, ‘Lakdabagha’ revolves around a person named Arjun Bakshi who is settled in Kolkata. Arjun takes care of stray dogs. One day he meets a gang of ‘hyena’ kidnappers and later exposes an illegal cattle smuggling racket. Apart from the film Riddhi Dogra, actors like Milind Soman, Paresh Pahuja, Bijou Thangjam, Adrita Dey are included. ‘Lakdabagha’ is going to be released in theaters on 13 January.
