The tourism department will train 4000 guides, boatmen, taxi drivers etc. to provide better services, facilities and guidance to the devotees coming from India and abroad in the Maha Kumbh to be held in Prayagraj next year. At the same time, tent cities, homestays, hotels etc. will also be arranged on a large scale for the stay of the devotees. More than 40 crore devotees are expected to come to the Maha Kumbh.
Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said that the age for training should be between 18 and 60 years and minimum educational qualification should be 12th pass. Each batch will have 60 people. The guide training will last for five days. Boatmen, taxi drivers and stakeholders will be given one day training. He said that through this, trained human resources will be prepared for Maha Kumbh.
He informed that the Tourism Department is organizing training programs in hotels in Prayagraj and Manyavar Kanshiram Tourism Institute, Lucknow. After the fair starts, all the trainees working from January will also be given honorarium. Interested applicants can register with the Tourism Department.
