In a village in Darbhanga, a 13-year-old minor girl was gang-raped by some boys from the village. This incident happened on August 3. When the victim’s mother complained about this to the accused and the villagers, the influential people of the village held a panchayat. The panchayat gave its verdict and said that the victim should take 2000 rupees and end the matter here. Then the victim’s mother filed an application in the police station and named four people as accused.
The case was registered four days after the incident
In the application given to the police station, the mother of the victim said that on the night of the incident, four people including Mohd Nadeem forcibly took my daughter from the house and kept gang raping her and kept my daughter hostage for three days. Despite informing the police station about this incident, the police ignored this matter. Somehow, when my daughter was freed from the clutches of the accused after three days, she was admitted to the local PHC for treatment. The doctor treating her there, Basant Kumar Jha, first asked to show the CDTV footage of the incident. There was an argument between the family and the doctor on this matter. After this, the police of Badgaon police station, which woke up after three days, hurriedly admitted the victim to DMCH for treatment.
Negligence of police and doctor also came to the fore
Dissatisfied with this decision, the victim along with her mother reached the women’s police station, but on that day the police turned both mother and daughter back from the police station. Then on August 7, the family registered a case against four people including Mo Nadeem in Badgaon police station. Now this incident has become a topic of discussion for the people of this area because this incident happened on August 3, while a panchayat was called for it on August 4. After that, after the wrong decision of the panchayat, an FIR was registered against four people on August 7. Then the police, being negligent, sent the victim to DMCH for medical examination on August 9, where due to the doctor’s arbitrariness, the medical examination took four days and on August 12, the victim’s statement under 164 was recorded in the court.
Now getting threats
The victim’s parents say that the accused are very influential. They are constantly pressurizing us to change the girl’s statement. They are also threatening us with dire consequences. Meanwhile, the villagers are maintaining silence on this entire matter. No one is ready to say anything. When asked about this, the in-charge medical officer of the PHC, Dr. Ashok Kumar said that after providing first aid to the victim, the police took her with them.
SSP admitted that police has been negligent
In this regard, SHO Kalpana Kumari said that on the application of the victim’s mother, an FIR has been lodged against four people including Mo Nadeem. Raids are being conducted to arrest the accused. The victim is undergoing treatment at DMCH. SSP Jagunath Reddy says that he was not aware of this matter. The negligence of the police of Jamalpur police station has come to light for the delay in the victim’s ultrasound. This matter will be investigated and strict action will be taken against the guilty policemen.
