Congress will now sharpen the issue of caste census and social justice. The party will now make the campaign running in UP nationwide. The top leadership of the party believes that caste census had a huge impact in UP during the Lok Sabha elections. In such a situation, it will now be implemented in other states as well.
The strategy was finalized in a meeting of the Central Working Committee chaired by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in New Delhi on Tuesday with the state presidents, general secretaries and in-charges. The issues of conducting a nationwide caste census, providing economic-social and political justice and forming a joint parliamentary committee to investigate the Adani mega scam were discussed in the meeting.
According to sources, the top leadership acknowledged that the issue of caste census had a huge impact in UP politically. This helped in uniting the vote bank in the Lok Sabha elections. In such a situation, a campaign will be run across the country by sharpening this issue.
Continuous campaign in the state
Dalit Samvad program was run during the Lok Sabha elections in the state. Rahul Gandhi raised the question of OBC participation in various public meetings. Even after the Lok Sabha elections, participation conferences were held from July 26 to August 7 for caste census in UP and now division-wise conferences are going on. Further, a strategy has been made to hold block-wise conferences on this issue and unite the people on this issue.
