Many times, after accidents, time and circumstances turn them into blurry memories. But sometimes accidents happen such that from time to time they refresh those painful memories which we would like to forget. The same thing happened in Florida, America. A massive 100-foot sinkhole swallowed a man in his bedroom, who was never found. But after this horrific story, it has been reopened for the second time.
This horrifying incident happened in March 2013 in Florida when Jeffrey Bush was in the bedroom of his home. But suddenly his brother Jeremy heard his heart-wrenching screams. It was found that the sinkhole had swallowed them completely. Jeffrey was considered dead for 11 years, no trace of him was found because the ground had completely swallowed him.
Jeff’s brother Jeremy, who himself almost drowned in this accident. “The floor in that bedroom was still going down and the dirt was still going down, but they didn’t care,” he told ABC about the nightmare-like incident.

Well, Jeremy was lucky because a Tampa police officer pulled him from the jaws of the sinkhole. But despite efforts to find Jeffrey, there was no success. The search was soon called off as the area became too dangerous for rescue teams. Due to which the house was demolished and the hole was filled with gravel. But this was not enough to forget the incident.
Years later the sinkhole reappeared, and officials had to cordon off the danger area. The sinkhole reopened for the third time in July last year, but officials ensured that the surrounding communities were not affected and informed nearby residents that it was safe to remain in their homes.
Jeremy’s wife and daughter also narrowly escaped during this disaster. Jeremy’s little girl still misses her uncle. According to data from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, sinkholes are a serious problem in Florida and nearly 27,000 incidents were recorded across the state in 2022 alone.
