Shahjahanpur. A team of doctors at the Government Medical College in Shahjahanpur removed a 16 cm x 5 cm clump of hair from the stomach of a 17-year-old girl through surgery. According to the doctors, the clump of hair had got stuck in the intestines of the girl. The girl had a disease of eating her own hair. 17-year-old Khushi Gautam was suffering from severe stomach pain, restlessness and vomiting for quite some time. The parents showed the girl to the doctor at the Government Medical College in Shahjahanpur where she underwent a successful operation and got relief from the pain. The doctors operated on the girl’s stomach and removed the clump of hair and gave her a new life.
It is worth noting that Siddharth Kumar’s 17-year-old daughter Khushi Gautam, a resident of Amdar village of Sindhauli police station area of the district, was suffering from stomach pain for quite some time. After which Siddharth took his daughter to Government Medical College Shahjahanpur and told the doctors about the stomach pain. Where after getting a CT scan of the stomach, it was found that there was a bunch of hair (TRICHOBEZOAR) in Khushi’s stomach.

When the doctors operated on Khushi’s stomach, a 16 cm x 5 cm clump of hair came out. This operation was successfully performed by Dr. Vibhor Jain, Head of the Surgery Department, Dr. Aditya Kumar Singh, Associate Professor of Surgery Department and Dr. Gaurav, Head of the Anesthesia Department. After the operation, Khushi Gautam is now completely healthy.
Khushi used to eat her own hair
Medical College PRO Dr. Pooja Tripathi said that when Khushi’s father brought her to the medical college, treatment was started thinking that she was suffering from stone pain, but later on CT scan it was found that there was a clump of hair in the stomach. Dr. Pooja Tripathi said that such patients are rarely seen who eat their own hair. Which forms a clump in the stomach. However, after the operation, the patient is completely healthy.
