New Delhi. In the premises of Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital located in GTB Enclave, a snake bit a five-year-old innocent girl while she was sleeping. Suddenly the mother woke up and saw the snake running away. One hand of the daughter had turned blue. The deaf and dumb mother tried to wake the girl up, but she had become unconscious.
Somehow the woman called the people nearby and took the child to the emergency of GTB hospital. Treatment started there, but the child could not be saved. The next day the child died during treatment. The child has been identified as Aarti (5). The police handed over the body to the family after the post-mortem on Monday. GTB Enclave police station is investigating the case. Aarti was the only sister of two brothers. After the incident, the wildlife team has been informed about the snake.
According to the police, Aarti, originally from village Darar, Agra, UP, lived with her family in the GTB Enclave hospital premises. The family consists of her father Gandharv Singh, mother Rukhsana, two brothers Rohit (8) and Mohit (6). Gandharv is a watchman in the PWD. His office is in the hospital premises itself. Gandharv had built a slum in the vacant space in the hospital. Rohit had some problem in his leg for the last few days. He was admitted to LNJP hospital. Gandharv was staying with him.
