Buying a car using Facebook Market Place proved to be costly for a person. The situation was such that he spent about 19 lakh rupees on seven cars in just nine months. 45-year-old Usman Malik of Britain has to buy a new car almost every month this year. The reason for this is that he has been a victim of fraud twice and he has got many such cars which he had not even expected in his dreams.
Usman is now so upset that Britain’s unluckiest car buyer has issued a warning about using Facebook Marketplace. Usman, a pharmacist by profession, unknowingly bought a Mini car with cloned plates, while a Honda car broke down on the motorway in a few hours and another barely lasted a week. He has so far spent Rs 18 lakh 46 thousand in just nine months, because unfortunately he had to buy several bad cars.
The father of two is now advising second-hand car buyers to stay away from Facebook Marketplace, which he compares to the “Wild West”. DailyStar “I don’t think most people own eight cars in their lifetime, much less in a few months. One reason is that I was scammed online and the other is that I’m stupid – but I’ve also had some bad luck,” Usman, from Rochdale, Greater Manchester, said.

Usman’s string of bad luck began when his trusty Honda Accord was destroyed in a car accident last December. Every time he bought a new car after that, it resulted in expensive repairs of some sort. He got embroiled in a case of cloning a car’s number plate.
In all this, he spent about Rs 22 lakh on seven cars in 9 months. Now he is warning people, saying, “Basically, don’t use the market to buy a car, it’s like the Wild West.”
