Will Jakarta sink by 2050?
Experts say that the people living here have time till 2030. One crore people live in this country. According to experts, by the year 2050, 95 percent of North Jakarta will be submerged under water. This city is continuously sinking at the rate of 1.5 centimeters. Jakarta’s sinking rate is more than double the sinking rate of all coastal cities in the world. Flood situation persists in many parts here. In such a situation, common people are trying to survive in this situation. However, the coming times are going to be very difficult for them. In such a situation, it is being advised not to continue construction work on the marshy land here, but this work is not being stopped by the builders, due to which this city may have to face more problems.
