An SUV crushed a three-year-old girl playing outside her house in Aliganj Sector-E on Sunday afternoon. The girl died after coming under the wheel. Angered by the accident, family members and local people protested by placing the dead body on the Sitapur Highway. The police officers explained and pacified them. During this period, traffic on the highway remained disrupted. Police have registered an FIR in the case and arrested the accused and the SUV has also been recovered.
Abhishek, originally a resident of Sandana, Sitapur, lives with his Rajvanshi family in Aliganj Sector-E. At around 1 pm on Sunday afternoon, his three-year-old daughter Radhika Rajvanshi alias Kashish was playing outside the house. Meanwhile, Kunal Singh of the area passed by in his SUV and Radhika came under his car. Due to this the girl lost her life. After conducting the post-mortem, the police handed over the body to the family members. When the family reached home with the dead body at around 4.30 pm, they started protesting by blocking the Sitapur Highway. On information, ACP Aliganj Brajnarayan Singh and other officers reached the spot. The family members demanded him to arrest the accused immediately. The officers ended the protest by assuring immediate arrest. Meanwhile, traffic remained disrupted for about 40 minutes. The police arrested the accused at around 6.30 pm.
An accident happened at the turn, the girl herself took trauma
According to DCP AR Shankar, when the matter was investigated, it came to light that the speed of the SUV was not high. The girl was hit while the accused was taking a turn. As soon as the accident happened, Kunal stopped the SUV and took the injured girl to trauma. He also got the prescription made, but as soon as the doctor declared the girl dead, he passed away due to trauma. During interrogation, Kunal told that he was scared and hence ran away. The SUV is registered in the name of Kunal’s brother’s company. Kunal works as a collection agent for banks.
The soul trembled after seeing the girl
Everyone’s heart shuddered after seeing innocent Radhika drenched in blood in the middle of the road. People were not able to muster the courage to lift it. Then her father Abhishek arrived screaming and picked up the daughter in his lap. After this he was taken to the trauma center. After the accident, apart from Radhika’s mother Anita and two brothers, other family members were left distraught.
The accused said, I did not see the girl
The police interrogated the accused for a long time. In this he told that he was leaving the house and going to the main road. He did not see the girl near the turn. When he felt that someone had come under the wheel, he immediately applied the brakes, but by then the vehicle had run over the girl.
