A unique marriage took place in Kota, the banyan tree became the groom and the peepal tree became the bride.


Shakti Singh/Kota:- On the auspicious occasion of Peepal Purnima, a unique wedding was organized in the village of Aamli Jhaad in Kota Kanwas Tehsil. There was no bride and groom in this wedding, but two trees got married. Actually, the marriage of Banyan and Peepal took place here. This unique wedding took place according to Vedic chanting and Hindu traditions. The people of the village participated in the wedding procession and Acharya chanted mantras and performed the wedding rituals amidst Mangal Geet. All the villagers arrived to attend the wedding and a crowd of people gathered to see this unique wedding.

Haldi and Mehndi before marriage
Before the marriage, the horoscopes of both the trees were matched in the Deoli Manji police station area. After this, people were invited by sending invitations along with the rituals of Haldi and Mehndi. Mehndi, Haldi, and Basan ceremony took place before the marriage. After this, the Banyan tree was decorated as the groom and the Peepal tree as the bride for the marriage. On this occasion, women sang Mangal songs and religious rituals were performed by Acharya Hemraj Sharma in the dusk muhurta. After the marriage, a feast was also organized. The villagers participated enthusiastically in making the marriage successful and thousands of devotees became witnesses of the Paanigrahan ceremony.

Wishes are fulfilled by offering water
Acharya Hemraj Sharma told Local18 that in Hindu rituals all religious functions can be performed in the Peepal tree and this tree is considered sacred only after marriage. Offering water to the Peepal tree after marriage fulfils wishes and it is considered sacred for tying the knot and worshipping. This unique wedding has become a topic of discussion in the area and people are appreciating this unique tradition.
